Douglas Crawford-Brown
Prof Crawford-Brown is Emeritus Professor of Environmental Science and Policy at the University of North Carolina in the US, where he was also founding director of the university-wide Institute for the Environment. He retired in 2017 as Director of the University of Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research. He remains a senior member of Robinson College in Cambridge. His degrees are in theoretical physics and nuclear science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in the US, but most of his career has been in the fields of radiation biophysics, risk assessment and environmental modelling. He also has served on multiple committees of the Science Advisory Board of the US Environmental Protection Agency, US National Research Council, US National Science Foundation, Technical Advisory Group of the American Water Works Association, UK OFWAT Regulatory Futures Panel, UK HM Treasury Interdependent Infrastructure Expert Panel, UK Climate Change Risk Assessment Panel and UK Homes England on Net Zero.
