Who we are

Message from the President & CEO

Frontier25 – formerly UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) – began with a question: what if we eliminate silos and focus on collective climate action instead?

 

As an independent climate action advisory, we work across sectors to help our partners collaborate, cooperate, and innovate.

 

Since our launch in 2022, we have been building collaborative platforms to effect policy change, drive innovation, and engage communities in our shared mission to build a sustainable future powered by a thriving green economy.

 

Today, with global temperatures breaking new records, we are accelerating our efforts, acting with renewed urgency to turn ambition into action and make tangible progress. 

 

Because if we act now – and act together – we can secure a sustainable home for generations.

Rooted in sustainability 

Frontier25, formerly UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA), was founded and is led by Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, a global climate leader who chairs several entities addressing climate change, sustainability, and gender equity.

Continuing the legacy of her forefathers, who championed environmental conservation and sustainable development, Her Highness is committed to promoting sustainability initiatives that protect our planet’s future.

We believe economic growth and a sustainable future should go hand in hand. This is why we are driving innovation, supporting policy change and facilitating meaningful conversations to ensure all sectors have the greatest possible impact – without slowing progress.

By working with partners across borders and sectors, we are breaking down silos to accelerate action towards the UAE's net zero by 2050 target. We believe it is only by working together that we can tackle the most pressing climate challenges and turn systemic obstacles into actionable pathways.

We identify and advance the most promising models for decarbonisation. By collaborating with partners in energy, industry and transportation, we help organisations devise low-carbon pathways and implement clean energy technologies.

We find sustainable ways to make products and use resources. We do this by accelerating the efforts of UAE policymakers and regulators to improve circularity in manufacturing, infrastructure, transport and food.

Frontier25's global roles

Earthshot Prize

Frontier25 is an official UAE nominator for the Earthshot Prize. This means we work with Earthshot to help them identify sustainability solutions from the region with the biggest potential impact.

The Earthshot Prize was set up in 2020 by HRH Prince William and works to identify game-changing examples of climate leadership and innovation. Each year, the organisation awards the best five solutions £1 million each to scale their work.

Frontier25's global roles

UNFCCC

Frontier25 holds an observer seat on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). As such, Frontier25 supports UNFCCC in its global efforts to tackle climate change.

UNFCCC is an international environmental treaty established in 1992 to address climate change by establishing a global framework for climate action.
