Policy Hack case study
In September 2024, Frontier25 hosted a Policy Hack on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
During the session, experts from the UAE industry presented their perspectives, provided overviews of their jurisdictions’ policies, and discussed policy gaps, challenges, and opportunities in five thematic breakout groups.
After the event, Frontier25 researchers conducted a stakeholder consultation and wrote a white paper on strategies to mitigate the effects of CBAM for the UAE industry. This led to a second Policy Hack for high-level representatives of industry and government and a final report on CBAM readiness in the UAE.
Frontier25's Policy Hacks on CBAM led to the removal of ceramics from the scope of the United Kingdom’s CBAM policy.
